by El Amlak
According to our book entitled, መጽሓፍ ዓቢ ሰራዊት ኣምላኽ or Mets’iḥāfiʿābi sarāwit āmǝlāḵ' (The book of the Great army of Amlak), the El meaning the almighty creator, Amlak of all spirit of all flesh is narrated as being alone in his abode or in his heaven. Therefore, the book of the Great army of Amlak is defined as a pre-creation book. It narrates events that occurred before the creation of most celestial and living beings.
El Amlak is alone in his heaven and then he creates the angels and the angels in turn worship him. The names of these angels are stipulated in our book and there are many of them. A great army of El Amlak. Some angels hold higher ranks in the army and others hold special roles in heaven. The abode of El Amlak was in this heaven where El Amlak was alone at first.
Before we explain about the seven heavens and the worlds (planets) under them, it is important to point out that the angels were the ones reasoning with El Amlak saying, ‘’Let us create". This distinguishes El, the Amlak, as the Amlak Saba'ot (The Amlak of hosts-armies) to identify that El Amilaki reasons with the hosts. This is contrary to the Christian claim that El Amilaki (who people mistakenly call god) was reasoning with the Christian trinity (the father, son and the holy spirit).
We can quote the names of the angels El Amlak was reasoning with. There was no such thing as a Christian or Christian trinity at the time!!
Here is a list of angels El Amlak reasoned with before the creation of other living beings like man and animals:
• Uri'El • Mika'El • Gabri'El • Saku'El • Azaz'El • Semazya • Anann'El • Phanu'El • Ragu'El
The seven pillars were erected, and then the seven heavens were created, and these seven heavens were placed on the seven pillars. By having seven pillars and seven heavens, one can see the majestic importance of the number seven for Beta Ezra'El.
Here is a list of the seven heavens in Ge'ez (first spoken language of the world) ordinal numbers, but with their majestic names given next to them:
1. Bahad ‘smay In the first heaven is called, "Iyyor."
2. Bakale ‘smay in the Second heaven is called, "Rama."
3. Basales 'smay in the third heaven is called, "Iyeru.", the heavenly Iyyarusalem.
This third heaven later descended to the earth and became Edomi Ganat (paradise). This is where Edam and Hewan (Adam and Eve) were placed after they were created. However, as reference in ancient Beta Ezra'EL literature in Chapter 40, they both first had to undergo purification before they could enter in the garden known as Edomi Ganat where Melketsedek ruled as king; building it to resemble the heavenly Iyyarusalem located in what is known today, as Harar province Ethiopia.
NB: what is commonly known as garden of Eden in the Greek Septuagint does not accurately represent the historical recordings of Edomi Ganat.
4. Barabe 'smay in the fourth heaven is called, "Duda’El"
5. Basade ’smay in the fifth heaven is called, "Aryam."
Aryam is the Highest heaven of all and some believe it is the seventh heaven. ARYAM in Ge'ez means heights or on high or elevated.
6. Basade ‘smay in the sixth heaven is called, "Arorya"
7. Basabe ‘smay in the seventh heaven is called, "El Saday"
Under these seven heavens, El Amlak created what we called, ‘’worlds´´, which in modern understanding could be classified as, 'planets'. So, each heaven has a number of worlds allocated to it and under it.
For example: Our earth is one of these planets or worlds and it is under the first heaven Iyor. This first heaven has a total of twelve worlds including our earth. Each world has a guardian like our world, the earth, had a guardian called Adam. Some worlds have cherubs as guardians.
The number of worlds allocated to each heaven vary, for example:
The second heaven Rama has thirty-three worlds
The fourth heaven Duda'El has twenty-one worlds.
In total all the worlds created under the seven heavens were one hundred worlds. The creation of the seven heavens and the one hundred worlds brings to mind the five elements that were used to form them and Edam. Those elements were:
• Water • Fire • Wind • Stones • Dust
Creation of Man
When El Amlak wanted to create a man at midday. He sent his angels to the earth to fetch the dust with which to create a man. The whole chronology of the creation of living beings is fully given in our Ge'ez book ‘Metshafe Kufale’ (book of divisions of time); outlining which beings were created first and which were created later.
Let's now place more emphasis on the creation of man, Adam. Most of the angels that were sent to fetch the dust of the earth to form Adam came back empty-handed because they could not take the dust from the earth, which at that time was a living entity and was praising the names of El Amlak. The first two angels revered the names of El Amlak, but the third angel sent named Berna'El, from the great camp of El, fetched the dust of the earth in total disregard of the earth praising the names of El Amlak. Berna'El defiantly brought the dust to El Amlak, and made it possible for Adam to be created. However, Berna'El was accused of not honoring the names of El Amlak that the earth proclaimed to seek refuge in El Amlak's name. There was war in heaven and Berna'El was punished for his insolence and finally thrown down to the earth.
Adam was created in the heaven or abode of El Amlak and delivered to the land of Elda prior to being placed in the Edomi Ganat. The land of Elda, located nearby, is where Adam and Hewan went through their time of purification.
We need to expose the misinformation of our cultural heritage being misappropriated in the Greek Septuagint on this fabricated story that Adam and Eve were created in the garden of Eden.
First of all, the so-called Garden of Eden was not Edam Ganat, Adam and Eve were never placed in a garden by the name Eden. They were placed in the land of Elda. After purification they were moved to Edami Ganat where they later sinned by eating the forbidden fruit and became unclean. They could no longer stay in Edami Ganat because they were impure!
Our book ‘Te'ezaza Sanbat’ explains the importance of purity and sanctity of those who enter Edomi Ganat. The sin of Adam and Hewan brought a curse to the whole earth, and not only to the land of Elda.
Metshafe Kufale
In our Ge'ez manuscript, ‘Metshafe Kufale’, that is over two thousand years old, there is an explanation of the kind of fruit that Adam and Hewan ate. It says they were forbidden from eating some fruit with a nut in it’ and that if they ate it, they would die’ The fruit with a nut in it is the almond fruit. It is even scientifically proven today that the eating of raw almond fruit can kill you. Almonds and the 'stone' fruits (peaches, nectarines, plums) are all closely related. You should not eat their seeds, they contain cyanide. If you eat a lot of them, it can kill you.
Our book refers to a nut and not seeds of apples, plums, apricot, etc. The almond is the one that produces a nut. Before it matures into a nut, it is dangerous to eat. Consuming raw almonds without proper treatment can increase the risk of experiencing food poisoning.
We are correcting the erroneous narrative that the forbidden fruit was an apple. The apple fruit has no nut in the midst of it.
Symbolic Ge'ez Meaning of "die"
The statement that Adam and Hewan would die from eating the forbidden fruit also has some symbolic meaning. In our understanding and from our language and traditions in Beta Ezra'El, dying refers to a state of one who has lost favor with El Amlak due to disobedience of his precepts. Those who obey the precepts are classified as alive or as the living. So, obey the precepts so that you may live. If you do not obey the precepts , you will die.
In our book entitled, ‘Te'ezaza Sanbat‘, the angels persuade Adam to ask for the Sanbat in order to have his sin forgiven. Adam indeed asked for the Sanbat, and the Sanbat was given. Then Adam was forgiven so he would not die or be separated from El Amlak due to his disobedience.
The translated English version of the Te'ezaza Sanbat offers original context to the ancient manuscripts prior to King James 1611, and a more accurate historical account of the Creation Story. Find more details here.
Psalms 78:1-7 "Listen, my people, to my teaching; turn your ears to the words from my mouth. I will speak to you in parables and explain mysteries from days of old. The things which we have heard and known, and which our fathers told us we will not hide from their descendants; we will tell the generation to come the praises of EL Amlak and his strength, the wonders that he has performed. He raised up a testimony in Ya‘eqob and established a Orit in Ezra’EL. He commanded our ancestors to make this known to their children, so that the next generation would know it, the children not yet born, who would themselves arise and tell their own children, who could then put their confidence in EL Amlak, not forgetting his deeds, but obeying his teachings.”
